Shipping and Packaging
We ship by U.P.S., by Standard Ground, 2nd Day Air
or 3rd Day Select. Shipping charges are based upon package weight and distance
to be shipped. We will advise you of the best method for the season and your
area.
We deliver field dug bamboo and large orders with our own trucks. Trucking
charges available on request.
Canadian and Overseas orders require that you send an import permit.
All plants are inspected, given a Phytosanity Certificate, then shipped
bare-root in a sterile medium. Please allow two weeks for processing.
Boxing Fee
In order for your plants to arrive in perfect condition we have developed a
strapping system that assures that each plant is secured to the box. Boxes can
be turned upside down without dislodging the plants. We charge a fee for these
extraordinary efforts to assure that your plants arrive in the best possible
conditions.
A $15 boxing fee will be added to each small box and $25 for each large
box. Please see chart below for an estimated no. of plants per box. The
shipping and
boxing fees do not appear on your order. We add this fee to your total order
cost after we complete the boxing process.

Care Upon Receiving Bamboo
Remove it from its shipping carton carefully, avoiding damage to new
growth on culms/shoots. Plant containers are usually strapped into the box.
Carefully cut all the plastic strapping and remove the plant (pot first) from
the carton. Shipping can be stressful, especially during the extreme
heat. Place your plants in a protected/shaded area, misting and watering as
needed. When signs of stress have disappeared, plant as indicated.
See General Planting
Procedures for more information.
*Please Note: All
Height and Culm Diameters listed are based on information for maximum dimensions
in the continental U.S. Generally the warmer the climate the larger the height
and diameter of the bamboo. Bamboo in zone 5 may be 50% of the maximum height
listed. The minimum temperatures listed refer to culm hardiness. Your bamboo may
die completely to the ground if winter temperatures fall below those indicated.
However, root hardiness is perhaps 10°F below that of culm. Hardiness can be
influenced by location, wind and winter protection.
